Make Your Life a Masterpiece!

Author Archive

My dearest friends,

Hope you are all doing awesome!:))

Here is a wonderful story by Steve Goodier that I would like to share with you today!

Life is to be lived. No excuses. No reservations. No holding back.

An enchanting story about violinist Fritz Kreisler tells how he once
came across a beautiful instrument he wanted to acquire. When he
finally raised the money for the violin, he returned to buy it and
learned that it had already been sold to a collector.

He went to the new owner’s home in order to try to persuade him to
sell the violin. But the collector said it was one of his prized
possessions and he could not let it go. The disappointed Kreisler
turned to leave, but then asked a favor. “May I play the instrument
once more before it is consigned to silence?”

Permission was granted and the great musician began to play. The
violin sang out a quality of music so beautiful that the collector
himself could only listen in wonderment. “I have no right to keep that
to myself,” he said after the musician finished. “The violin is yours,
Mr. Kreisler. Take it into world, and let people hear it.”

William Arthur Ward said, “If you believe in prayer, pray; if you
believe in serving, serve; if you believe in giving, give.” For you
and I are exquisite violins — our music is meant to be heard.

I want to live my life that way — to take it into the world and live
it fully. I’d rather burn out than rust out. I’d rather be used up
than die not having done whatever I could…wherever I would.

I’m not talking about wearing ourselves out on over-activity.
Happiness is never found in excessive busyness. But it is found in
investing our lives in others. Saying YES when asked for a hand.
Volunteering some time for a worthwhile organization. Spending an hour
with a lonely relative.

In the end, I know that my happiness will not have been
about by my ability or my inability. It will have been about my
availability. My life is meant to be lived.

Wish you all an excellent weekend!

Much Love,
Priya :))

Achieving Success By Fulfilling Our Life Purpose
By Priya Deelchand

We all want to be happy and successful in life and yet very few people can claim to be as happy and as successful as they always wished to be. At some point in our life when we feel unfulfilled, many of us ask ourselves questions like, “Why am I here for?” “What do I really want to do in my life?” “Where am I going?” As long as we do not find the answers to these questions, we will continue to feel unfulfilled. The only way to achieve lasting happiness and success is by living a life of purpose. Most of the peak performers in life are those who spend most of their time thinking about who they are and why they are here for and then continuously assessing their progress in light of who they are and what their true calling is.

We are all unique and were put on this earth to do something extraordinary. There has never been anyone in the entire universe just like us. Each one of us has outstanding abilities, skills, talents and gifts that make us different from all other people who have ever lived. We have the capacity within us to accomplish more than we ever imagined possible. Each one of us is born with a unique life purpose and our mission is to discover the key role we are meant to fill and then to throw our whole heart into doing it exceptionally well. Plato once said, “There is a place that you are to fill and no one else can fill, something you are to do, which no one else can do.” We can achieve greater success and happiness and have deeper fulfillment by finding and living our true purpose.

Most people today do not know their purpose and they wander aimlessly and accomplish very little in life. They respond to circumstances, situations and events, to parents and responsibilities, and never take the time to sit down and think about what it is that they really want for themselves. They spend their entire life doing things that they do not enjoy and they work only to earn a living and to pay their bills at the end of the month. As Thoreau rightly said “The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation,” These people achieve only temporary success and happiness because they set and achieve only short-term goals. Once these goals are achieved, they still feel that something is missing in their lives and they feel unfulfilled. Most high achievers in life think and act differently. They believe in a mission which goes far beyond a simple goal. These people are committed to follow their purpose and do only those things that they enjoy most and which give meaning to their lives.

In order to find our true calling, we need to understand ourselves better and know exactly what we enjoy doing the most in life. We can ask ourselves questions like:

– What activities are most important to us?

– What do we have the most fun doing?

– What do we do where we lose track of time?

– What would we do if we had no limitations?

– What would we do if we knew we could not fail?

– What are our natural talents and aptitudes?

– What are the things we do best in life?

– What would we do for free for the rest of our life if we had all the money we needed?

– What do others look to us for?

– What do the people closest to us say our passions are?

We must dare to take risks and go against the norm if we really want to discover and fulfill our life purpose. We must be willing to do what our hearts desire and follow our bliss rather than follow what other people want us to do. Following our heart rather than following the crowd gives us much more chance to find happiness and fulfillment, but it takes courage and guts. Many people are afraid of being different, of not being accepted by those around them, and of standing out rather than blending in. We must always listen to the wise words of Friedrich Nietzsche who once said, “The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.

When we live our life on purpose, we become so passionate with what we are doing and become so involved in our task that we just lose track of time. For us, work becomes play because we enjoy every moment and spend our time doing exactly what we love and what we were meant to do. Confucius was right when he said “Find a job you love and you’ll never work a day in your life.”

Furthermore, when we live our purpose, things will just seem to fall into place. The people, opportunities and resources we need come to us easily and effortlessly. Joseph Campbell once said “If you follow your bliss you put yourself on a kind of track that has been there all the while, waiting for you, and the life that you ought to be living is the one you are living. When you can see that, you begin to meet people who are in your field of bliss, and they open doors to you. I say, follow your bliss and don’t be afraid, and doors will open where you didn’t know they were going to be.” The whole world will also benefit because when we are in alignment with our true calling, all our actions will automatically serve others and we will be making a real difference in the lives of others by giving real value to them far beyond what we could have imagined.

A purpose driven life is a life that we must all seek to live. Identifying and honoring our purpose is the key to success and happiness in life. We are all capable of become everything we want to become and living a life of purpose and fulfilling our highest natural potential is the greatest and most precious gift we can give to ourselves and to the world. Deepak Chopra was right when he said “Everyone has a purpose in life… a unique gift or special talent to give to others. And when we blend this unique talent with service to others, we experience the ecstasy and exultation of our own spirit, which is the ultimate goal of all goals.”

Boost Your Self Esteem With Positive Affirmations
By Priya Deelchand

Your ability to achieve what you truly desire in your life depends largely on your self esteem. Your self esteem is how you feel about yourself. The stronger your self esteem, the more confidence you will have in your abilities and the more you will accomplish in life. In fact, there is a direct relationship between self esteem and success. Successful people generally have a very high self esteem and think very highly about themselves whereas most unsuccessful people have a very low self esteem. According to Dr Nathaniel Branden, famous psychologist on self esteem, “There is no value-judgment more important to man-no factor more decisive in his psychological development and motivation than the estimate he passes on himself.”

Building a strong self esteem is therefore of utmost importance for you to live a better, happier and more successful life. You can use positive affirmations techniques to build your self esteem and develop a powerful and positive attitude in life. Through the regular use of this powerful technique, you will begin to see wonderful changes in your life you never imagined possible.

Affirmation is something that you are doing all the time. In fact, every thought you think and every word you say is an affirmation. All of your inner dialogues are affirmations. You are continually affirming subconsciously with your words and thoughts and this flow of affirmations is creating your life experience in every moment.

If you want to build your self esteem, it is very important for you to develop a conscious and focused affirmation process. You must become conscious of exactly what you are affirming through your thoughts and consciously and purposefully focus those affirmations on positive and empowering statements. These positive affirmations will reprogram your subconscious mind and allow you to boost up your self esteem. By developing the habit of using positive affirmations regularly and consistently your subconscious will adapt to the new information it is being provided with.

For your affirmations to be 100% effective, it is important that you create your own affirmations based on your specific conditions and circumstances. It is very important to remember that your affirmations are only going to be effective if you can feel what you are affirming. It is the emotions that your affirmations create that will attract the things that you desire to you. The most effective positive affirmations are phrases that are in alignment with you, empower you and allow you to feel a shift in your emotions as you repeat them.

You can repeat the following affirmations to restore your self esteem or create your own affirmations. It is highly worth noting that loving yourself is the key to boost up your self esteem. The more you love yourself, the stronger your self esteem will grow.

1. I love and accept myself completely.

2. I feel great about myself.

3. I respect myself.

4. I am a unique and a very special person.

5. I and worthy of respect of others.

6. I am happy and successful.

7. I have high self esteem.

8. I deserve all the good things in life.

9. I am loving, healthy, positive and prosperous.

10. I am a valuable and important person.

Using positive affirmations can do wonders in building your self esteem. Louise Hart once said, self-esteem is as important to our well-being as legs are to a table. It is essential for physical and mental health and for happiness. You must believe in yourself and value yourself because you are unique and are capable of accomplishing great things in your life. As Nathaniel Hawthorne rightly said, “Every individual has a place to fill in the world, and is important, in some respect, whether he chooses to be so or not.”

Persistence – Your Key to Success
By Priya Deelchand

Do you really want to succeed in life? Is there a goal that you would like to achieve? Do you want to be happier, healthier or richer? One of the most important ingredients to achieve anything great in your life is persistence. Persistence has the power to transform desires into reality. John D. Rockefeller once said “I do not think there is any other quality so essential to success of any kind as the quality of perseverance. It overcomes almost everything, even nature.”

Persistence separates extraordinary people from ordinary ones. You too can succeed and achieve great things in your life if you cultivate the habit of persisting. All things are possible if you persist. People who persevere, never accept defeat. They just keep moving forward in the direction of their goals.

One of the main reasons why goals remain unachieved and why most people are not successful is a lack of persistence. Initially you are very excited and highly motivated when you make the decision to achieve your new goal and you are determined to succeed. However once an obstacle, large or small, appears you most often allow that obstacle to discourage you from continuing to do what it takes to achieve your goal and succeed.

People who achieved excellence have encountered many obstacles while climbing the ladder to success. Such obstacles would have discouraged most ordinary people a long time back. These extraordinary people, however, refused to quit. They persisted until they succeeded. Thomas Edison is a very good example of the power of perseverance. When he was asked how he managed to persist in the face of continued failure, he answered, “I did not fail. I have just found 10,000 ways not to invent the light bulb.” Most people fail simply because they gave up too soon. If they had persisted, success would have been theirs.

You need to persist regardless of the obstacles you come across. You must keep telling yourself that as long as you keep trying, as long as you keep putting effort into doing what you need to do to achieve what you strongly desire, you will succeed. Always remember the wise words of Og Mandino who once said “I will persist until I succeed. Always will I take another step. If that is of no avail I will take another, and yet another. In truth, one step at a time is not too difficult…. I know that small attempts, repeated, will complete any undertaking.”

If you persist, you will succeed over the person who has more money, more education or even more talents than you have. Calvin Coolidge was right when he said “Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing in the world is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.”

Persistence has incredible power. Take constant action in the direction of your goals and trust that the best outcome will always materialize. Never quit. Do not stop singing if you are not accepted at an audition, do not give up on that job you always wanted, do not stop striving to be the person you always wanted to be, do not give up your big dreams. Always remember that all great people started as ordinary people but had a dream and persisted and with a positive mental attitude achieved extraordinary success. If they persisted and succeeded, you can too! So begin to persist now and remember what Winston Churchill said “Never, never, never give up!”

Achieve Success by Overcoming Your Self-Limiting Beliefs!
By Priya Deelchand

Believing in yourself is the most important quality that you can develop in order to accomplish anything that you truly desire in every area of your life and become more successful. You all have unlimited potential and each one of you have the capacity to accomplish great things and be successful in life. However, most of you achieve far less than what you are capable of because of your self-doubts and self-limiting beliefs.

Self-limiting beliefs are those things you believe about yourself that place boundaries on your aptitudes and skills. These beliefs may be conscious or unconscious. Examples of self-limiting beliefs are when you think that you are not good enough to do certain things, you are not intelligent enough to succeed in your exams, you are not as good as your friends or you do not deserve the good things in life. Most of these beliefs are not true, but they make you play small in life and prevent you from expressing the creative genius that resides within you.

Jamie Paolinetti rightly said “Limitations live only in our minds. But if we use our imaginations, our possibilities become limitless.” You can accomplish absolutely anything that you want in life if you make up your mind to. In fact, absolutely nothing is impossible and there are no limits to what you can be, do or have. What is really important is what you believe about yourself and whatever you believe with feeling becomes your reality. Tony Robbins once pointed out, “What we can or cannot do, what we consider possible or impossible, is rarely a function of our true capability. It is more likely a function of our beliefs about who we are.”

The good news is that you can eliminate your self-limiting beliefs by becoming aware of them, identifying them and challenging them by replacing them with more positive beliefs. You must intentionally reject any thoughts that are limiting you in any way and you must always remember that there is nothing you cannot be, do or have. There is no one who is better or more capable than you are. We are all born with unlimited potentials, unique talents and abilities and we all deserve the very best in life. Always follow the wise advice of Thomas Carlyle “Let each become all that he was created capable of being.”

Nothing in the world can stop you from becoming the great and successful person that you want to become as long as you are willing to persist long enough until you succeed. As Helen Keller said, we can do anything we want as long as we stick to it long enough. Once you are clear about the person you want to become you must develop new beliefs to become that person and you have to discipline yourself to act as if you were already that person. You will have to adopt new attitudes and qualities to become the successful person you want to become.

There are no limitations on your potential except for those that you believe you have. People who are successful have the firm belief and conviction that they can achieve anything that they truly desire. You too are a highly capable person and you equally deserve to be successful. From now on, see yourself as the best and most successful person you can be and do not accept any boundaries on your potential. Once you start believing in yourself and act in accordance with your new beliefs, you will open doors to unlimited possibilities and your future will be brighter than you ever imagined. As Mary Kay Ash said, “Do not limit yourself. Many people limit themselves to what they think they can do. You can go as far as your mind lets you. What you believe, remember, you can achieve.”

Happiness Is Your Birthright!

Author: Priya Deelchand

We all aim to live a happy and fulfilled life today. Many of us can easily afford to buy most of the material things in the world, yet we are not truly happy.  Most of us are desperately looking for authentic happiness as we have come to realize that happiness is an essential part for living a fulfilled life. In fact, happiness is our birthright but very few people can sincerely claim to have found true happiness in today’s world.

The Dalai Lama once said “From the moment of birth, every human being wants happiness and does not want suffering. Neither social conditioning nor education nor ideology affects this. From the very core of our being, we simply desire contentment. I don’t know whether the universe, with its countless galaxies, stars and planets, has a deeper meaning or not, but at the very least, it is clear that we humans who live on this earth face the task of making a happy life for ourselves.”

We spend a lifetime searching for happiness. Most of us think that happiness is difficult to find and that it is achieved through physical things and circumstances and that we must look for it in the physical world. We very often say things like “If only I could buy that car, then I would be truly happy.” Or “If only I could find the right partner, that would be all I need to be happy.” Or “If only I could earn this job and have a successful career, then life would be truly fulfilling.” Or “If only I could buy my dream house, then life would be just perfect.” All these different statements show that most of the time, we tend to look for true happiness in external things and conditions and as such our happiness tend to be only temporary and short lived. Once our desire is fulfilled in external things, we become unhappy again and tend to look for more and more new external things to find happiness.

Most of us are finding it very difficult to find true happiness because we are looking for happiness in all the wrong places. The truth is that happiness is out birthright and it is a lot closer and easier to achieve than we think. The search for happiness starts and ends within ourselves. According to Democritus, happiness resides not in possessions and not in gold, the feeling of happiness dwells in the soul. We just have to go within and find it. Once we know this truth and start looking for true happiness inside of us instead of outside, our life will no longer be the same and we will find more joy, fulfilment, peace and abundance in our lives.  James Oppenheim was right when he said “The foolish man seeks happiness in the distance, the wise grows it under his feet.”

Happiness is a choice and we have all been provided the free will to choose or not choose happiness. We can all be as happy as we choose to be. We must all make the choice to be happy every single day of our life. Always listen to the wise words of Groucho Marx who once said “Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself: I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.”

The time to be happy is now. Sharon Salzberg rightly said, It doesn’t matter how long we may have been stuck in a sense of our limitations. If we go into a darkened room and turn on the light, it doesn’t matter if the room has been dark for a day, a week, or ten thousand years – we turn on the light and it is illuminated. Once we control our capacity for love and happiness, the light has been turned on.

Let us all savour the beauty of life and live to the fullest. Let us all choose to make each day the happiest day of our life! We all deserve to be happy now and forever!

Gratitude: The Vital Ingredient To Attract More Good Things Into Your Life!

Author: Priya Deelchand

In order to manifest more joy, happiness, abundance, success and all the good things that you truly desire into your life, you need to develop an attitude of gratitude. Brian Tracy once said, ” Develop an attitude of gratitude, and give thanks for everything that happens to you, knowing that every step forward is a step toward achieving something bigger and better than your current situation.”  When you consciously and consistently develop the habit of expressing earnest gratitude for what you already have in your life, you will attract into your life more things, situations and circumstances to be thankful for.

According to the Law of Attraction, you attract into your life whatever you give your attention, energy and focus to, whether wanted or unwanted. This powerful universal law states that you are constantly sending out vibrations in the Universe. These vibrations are in the form of your thoughts, feelings and emotions and they can be either positive or negative. The events, situations and circumstances that you attract in your life will always be in perfect alignment with the vibrations that you are emitting.

When you are in a genuine state of gratitude, you will be resonating at a higher vibrational frequency since the vibration that you will be sending out will be one of acceptance and harmony. You will, as a result attract into your life more situations and experiences to be grateful for. Expressing heartfelt gratitude for any circumstance projects a magnetic force that attracts to you more of what you are expressing gratitude for.

Jack Canfield stated “Being truly grateful for what is already present in your life will automatically and effortlessly attract more good into your life. Make a conscious decision to appreciate and acknowledge all that you have already been blessed with. These emotions are of the highest vibrational frequency, and through the Law of Attraction they will attract even more to be thankful for.”

You should be grateful for even the difficult situations in your life because very often, it is through these events that you get the best opportunities to grow. If you do not express gratitude for the difficult situations in your life, you will be resisting the difficult situations and this will place your focus on not wanting that situation. This resistance puts you in a lower vibrational frequency which only serves to attract to you more difficult events, conditions and circumstances into your life. If, instead you adopt a more positive attitude and you are thankful for the lessons that you are learning while facing these challenging circumstances, you will switch your vibration from negative to positive and you will attract more positive situations in your life.

Louise Hay said “I have noticed that the Universe loves gratitude. The more grateful you are, the more goodies you get. When I say goodies, I don’t mean only material things. I mean all the people, places and experiences that make life so wonderfully worth living. You know how great you feel when your life is filled with love and joy and health and creativity, and you get the green lights and the parking places. This is how our lives are meant to be. The Universe is a generous, abundant giver, and it likes to be appreciated.”

Spend as many moments as you can every day being thankful for all the good that are already in your life. You all know that according to the Law of Attraction, what you focus on expands. The more we focus on the things that we already have and the more we express our gratitude, the energy of gratitude will draw more of the things we desire to us.

Always follow the wise advice of Shakti Gawain “Whatever our individual troubles and challenges may be, it’s important to pause every now and then to appreciate all that we have, on every level. We need to literally “count our blessings,” give thanks for them, allow ourselves to enjoy them, and relish the experience of prosperity we already have.”

Begin your practice of gratitude today and attract more and more abundance, joy, love, prosperity, peace and success into your life. You deserve it!

Think Your Way To Success With Positive Affirmations

Author: Priya Deelchand

Affirmations are statements that you think or say to yourself or others and they are based on your beliefs. These affirmations can be either positive or negative and have the ability to greatly influence your life and create your reality. In fact, affirmation is something that you are doing all the time. Every thought you think and every word you say is an affirmation. All of your inner dialogues are affirmations. You are continually affirming subconsciously with your words and thoughts and this flow of affirmations is creating your life experience in every moment.

You can achieve the success you desire by programming your mind with positive affirmations. In fact, most of the successful people in the world are not much different from you. The main difference between a successful person and an unsuccessful one is that most successful people have a success mindset.  Their inner dialogue is one of success and accomplishment and they always focus on the positive rather than on the negative.

You can use positive affirmations to achieve the success you desire and through the regular use of this powerful technique, you will begin to see wonderful changes in your life you never imagined possible. With positive affirmations, you can conquer your limiting beliefs and negative thoughts and make success a reality for you. Ralph Marston once said, “There is a thought in your mind right now. The longer you hold on to it, the more you dwell upon it, the more life you give to that thought. Give it enough life, and it will become real. So make sure the thought is indeed a great one.”

In order to achieve success, it is very important for you to develop a conscious and focused affirmation process. You must become aware of exactly what you are affirming through your thoughts and consciously and purposefully focus those affirmations on positive and empowering statements. These positive affirmations will reprogram your subconscious mind and allow you to become more and more successful. By developing the habit of using positive affirmations regularly and consistently your subconscious will adapt to the new information it is being provided with. As Claude M. Bristol rightly said “It’s the repetition of affirmations that leads to belief. And once that belief becomes a deep conviction, things begin to happen.”

For your affirmations to be effective, it is important that you create your own affirmations based on your specific conditions and circumstances. It is very important to remember that your affirmations are only going to be efficient if you can feel what you are affirming. It is the emotions that your affirmations create that will attract the success that you desire to you. The most effective positive affirmations are phrases that are in alignment with you, empower you and allow you to feel a shift in your emotions as you repeat them.

You can repeat the following affirmations to become more successful or you can create your own affirmations.

1.         I am very successful now.

2.         Success and achievement are natural outcomes for me.

3.         I attract success and prosperity with all of my ideas.

4.         Success comes very easily and effortlessly to me.

5.         Everything I do turns into success.

6.         My success is contagious, other people like it, seek it and respect it.

7.         All of my thoughts and ideas lead me straight to success.

8.         Prosperity and success is my natural state of mind.

9.         I am a success magnet.

10.      I am the example of success and triumph.

You can all become as successful as you desire by using positive affirmations regularly and consistently. Remember that success is a state of mind and if you want success, start thinking of yourself as a success. As John Addison rightly said, “You’ve got to win in your mind before you win in your life.”

Once upon a time there were two brothers,
Tham and Hien. They had scarcely reached
adolescence when their parents died leaving
the two brothers the ancestral home – a large
but simple house, a few fields and also a
small parcel of forest land with a small hut.

Tham was greedy, miserly and proud. Hien
was good, obliging and generous. When the
two brothers thought of marrying, Tham looked
for the richest possible bride whereas
Hien followed his heart and looked for
a sweet and loving partner. Immediately
following the marriages Tham came to see
his brother and told him:

“Now that we are both married, the house
is too small for all of us. Since I am the
eldest, it is only natural that the house
should come to me. But I am not ungenerous,
I don’t expect you to leave empty-handed.
You can have the small hut and the patch
of forest land surrounding it. You are
a worker, you can easily repair the hut
and cultivate your land”. Hien bowed his
head in agreement and went to tell his wife.

The small hut was in a pitiable condition
and the tiny plot of land was hard and rocky.

The only redeeming feature was a majestic
cucumber-tree at one end of the field, still
full of vigour despite its age. Its leaves
provided shade for the hut, and seeing this
Hien thought that perhaps the Gods had not
completely abandoned him.

Hien and his wife worked very hard but what
they were able to earn from the land was not
sufficient to support them. On top of this,
the young lady was expecting their first child.

One day when Hien was in a sad mood his wife
calmed him. She led him outside the hut.

“Look at the cucumber tree”, she said,
“It is bending with the burden of its fruits.
Soon I’ll be able to pick them and sell them
in the village. Don’t give up hope”.

But the next day when Hien started out for
the forest he saw a very large bird with
feathers of fire sitting in the tree and
eating the cucumbers.

“Good bird, please have pity on us. The
cucumbers are all that we have. If you eat
them all, there will be nothing left for us!”

Hien did not know that the beautiful bird
was the legendary Phoenix, so he was very m
uch surprised when the bird turned and replied:

“I shall not be ungrateful and you will be g
reatly compensated for allowing me to taste
these cucumbers. Ask your wife to sew a sack
and come and see me tomorrow morning under
the cucumber-tree”.

The next day Hien waited under the
cucumber-tree with the sack in his hand.
He heard a fluttering of feathers over head
and saw that the Phoenix was once again
feasting on the cucumbers. Eventually the
bird saw him:

“Open your sack and put it under the tree”.
Hien did so. As the bird ate the fruits,
it dropped the equivalent weight of precious
stones, diamonds and nuggets of gold into
the sack.

Even before the sack was full Hien cautioned
the Phoenix:

“Stop beautiful bird! I’ve already got more
than enough to give us a good living.
I thank you. You have been very good to us.”

The Phoenix understood the wisdom of the
young farmer and told him:

“If misery again strikes at your door,
look at this cucumber-tree and remember
that you need not despair, that there will
always be a solution; and if you are in need
of me I shall not be far away”.

……………………………………..

This popular story hides a great truth:
wealth is not just about having lots of
money – it is also about the potential and
possibilities of finding our own strengths:

our imagination, our intelligence and
creativity. Certainly the cucumber-tree and
the Phoenix are proverbial, but the good bird
didn’t consider it worthwhile to speak to
the wicked brother.

He spoke to Hien. This signifies that
luck smiles on those who are enterprising,
courageous, who have perseverance and
confidence in their capacity to succeed
and who do not give up the responsibility
of their life by blaming it on fate or destiny.

……………………………………..

“There are two types of people on earth:
those who look for ways of succeeding and
those who look for excuses for their
failures”.
M. de Cornouardt

“To have the courage of undertaking something
is one of the principal factors of success”.

Dining one day with Baron James Rothschild,
Eugene Delacroix, the famous French artist,
confessed that, during some time past, he had
vainly sought for a head to serve as a model
for that of a beggar in a picture which he
was painting;

and that, as he gazed at his host’s features,
the idea suddenly occurred to him that the
very head he desired was before him.

Rothschild, being a great lover of art,
readily consented to sit as the beggar.

The next day, at the studio, Delacroix
placed a tunic around the baron’s shoulders,
put a stout staff in his hand, and made him
pose as if he were resting on the steps
of an ancient Roman temple.

In this attitude he was found by one of
the artist’s favorite pupils, in a brief
absence of the master from the room.

The youth naturally concluded that the
beggar had just been brought in, and with
a sympathetic look quietly slipped a piece
of money into his hand.

Rothschild thanked him simply, pocketed
the money, and the student passed out.
Rothschild then inquired of the master,
and found that the young man had talent,
but very slender means.

Soon after, the youth received a letter
stating that charity bears interest, and
that the accumulated interest on the amount
he had given to one he supposed to be a
beggar was represented by the sum of
a hundred thousand francs, which was awaiting
his claim at the Rothschild office.
